APA California - Making Great Communities Happen...

Director's Message

Happy Holidays APA Central Coast!

With all the hardship, heartache, and challenges that 2020 has brought, I wanted to take a step back and recognize all that we have accomplished or been challenged to overcome this year. We have perfected the art of working from home while balancing our personal lives amongst the daily chaos, become teachers to our children, or explored our own backyards more than we might typically. Whatever you identify with, I would encourage us all to celebrate each moment, even the small ones!

Though a virtual platform cannot fully take the place of in-person connection, a silver lining for myself this year has been the opportunity and ability to connect and meet with other professionals in the Central Coast. For example, on December 10th, the APA Central Coast Section partnered with AEP Channel Counties for a joint virtual holiday Party, which was a huge success, with the opportunity to meet professionals from your same county, but also from the other counties that make up our area boundaries. The costumes and festive attire also brought some much-needed holiday cheer and joy to the virtual setting.

Stay tuned for our annual End of Year Report from the Central Coast Executive Board with more details and reports from the past year, as well as more engaging events for 2021! Wishing you and your families the best holiday season yet and hoping to see you all again soon in the new year!

All the best and wishing you a brighter 2021,

Rachel Raynor, AICP | APA Central Coast Director
