APA California - Making Great Communities Happen...

Central Coast Section Webmaster

Job Description

The Central Coast Section of the American Planning Association is looking for a new Webmaster to join the Section’s Executive Board of Directors. This is an unpaid, volunteer position and a voting member of the Central Coast Section’s Executive Board of Directors.

Official responsibilities are outlined in the section’s bylaws (click to view).

This role is generally responsible for website maintenance, as well as responding to and moderating news, job, and event postings. The position has a light commitment, generally from 0-2 hours a week, although the position requires relatively quick responsiveness to digital requests, and an aptitude for technical problem-solving.

The Section contracts with a web consultant who does the heavy lifting of website maintenance. Your job will be to direct the consultant in overall website appearance, format and moderate postings, as well as manage the website’s job posting board. Additionally, you will work closely with the Public Information Officer to direct the digital presence of the Section, and with other members of the Board to update pages with individual content requests.

Additionally, this position offers a chance to get involved with the local APA Section Board with a light time commitment, which allows the right person a great deal of capacity to join other committees and work efforts. The Board offers a great way to learn about APA events, meet and network with other planners, and contribute to the continued education of APA members on the Central Coast.

Please reach out to the current Webmaster, Kyle Jordan, at kyle.w.jordan@gmail.com if you have any questions. The position is available as Kyle Jordan has relocated to the south Bay Area for work.

This position will remain open until filled. Please submit a resume and brief letter of interest on this google form.
