Greetings APA Central Coast!

I hope that you had a wonderful Thanksgiving Holiday and enjoyed your time off with friends and family.

As an incoming member to the California Planning Foundation (CPF) board, I wanted to share some great news.  Drum roll please….. thanks to generous donations from our supporters, CPF was able to award $72,000 in scholarships to 40 outstanding planning students at the 2021 APA California Virtual Conference. Scholarship recipients came from diverse backgrounds and were selected because they are talented, motivated, and have demonstrated academic excellence at planning programs throughout California.

Even though it’s been a challenging year for fundraising, we’ve set a goal to raise $60,000 by the end of this year and to date, we have received over $40,000 toward the goal of funding next year’s CPF Scholarships.  We are still fundraising for a 2nd CPF Diversity Scholarship, as well as fundraising for CPF Scholarships in general, and as you know, every dollar counts!   We even have several anonymous donors who will match all donations made to CPF this year, up to $7,000.  Also, CPF is a 501(c)(3) so all contributions are also tax deductible.

In the spirit of giving during this holiday season, I hope that you will consider making a donation to CPF in 2021. You can donate securely online on our CPF website at: https://californiaplanningfoundation.org/support-cpf/.

You can also mail a check made out to “California Planning Foundation” to:

If you have questions or need any additional information about CPF, about making a donation, or about setting up a new CPF Scholarship endowment, please don’t hesitate to email CPF President Hing Wong (hing@hingwong.info)  or you can reach out to me at kimprillhart@yahoo.com.

Thank you APA Central Coast members for generously supporting the CPF Student Scholarship Program which makes such a difference in the lives of students in California planning programs across the entire state.
